Description
We combined the weld spacers builders buy together most into one welding spacer bundle. You get both link tab widths plus your pick of shock width, so one order covers link and shock tabs.
What’s in the Welding Spacer Bundle
Each spacer is the same part we sell on its own, so you can also buy them one at a time. Here’s what you get.
- 2.000″ link spacer. It runs 2.010″ and fits standard smaller rod ends and joint spacing. You can drill the 9/16″ hole larger.
- 2.625″ link spacer. It runs 2.635″ and fits larger 1.25″ rod ends and flex joint spacing. You can drill the 9/16″ hole larger.
- 1.500″ or 1.600″ shock spacer, your pick. The 1.5″ runs 1.510″ and fits most King, Fox, Icon, Bilstein and Radflo coilovers in that width. The 1.6″ runs 1.610″, and it’s the one for ORI builds. You can drill the 1/2″ hole larger on either size.
Why Every Spacer Runs .010″ Oversize
Slide a spacer between the tabs before you strike an arc. It holds the gap while heat moves through the metal. That means your joint or shock eye drops straight in once the brackets cool.
Here’s why the extra .010″ matters. Welding heat makes steel move, so tab spacing can close or spread a little as it cools. Because of that, we machine all our welding spacers .010″ over their nominal size. So your spacing lands right where it needs to be.
Plus, aluminum helps pull heat away while you weld. When you’re done, pull the spacer out and reuse it on the next build.
Where It Gets Used
First, the 2″ and 2.625″ spacers cover the two common link bracket widths. That takes care of 3-link, 4-link and triangulated 4-link builds, plus panhard brackets. They also work with rod ends, heim joints, Johnny Joints, poly bushings and flex joints.
Plus, on the shock side, the two sizes cover the common mounting widths. That means coilovers, bypass shocks, air shocks and ORIs all fit. When you run coilovers on a 4-link, the 1.5″ handles most setups.
That means you pick the shock size once, and the welding spacer bundle puts all three in your cart. Every spacer is CNC machined in-house and Made in the USA.
