Superduty Dana 60 8×6.5 Drill Guide
Finish up your axle swap with the Superduty Dana 60 8×6.5 Drill Guide, the ultimate affordable solution for converting your 1999 and newer metric Superduty stock 8x170mm lug pattern to the more common 8×6.5 pattern. The engineered fixture will convert your SD D60 front to match your rear 1-ton axle. This high-quality drill jig is made from durable 1/4″ thick material, ensuring long-lasting performance and reliability.
Key Features:
- Precision Engineering: CNC laser cut for exact measurements and laser-etched with the correct drill bit sizes. Our drill guide guarantees accurate and efficient conversions while engraved drill sizes will keep your specs handy for the life of the tool.
- User-Friendly Design: Simply bolt the drill fixture onto the stock wheel studs and use the 1/4″ guide holes to pre-drill the new lug pattern. The guide ensures perfect alignment, making the installation process seamless without the need for adapters.
- Enhanced Durability: Thicker than standard 1/8″ variants, the Superduty Dana 60 drill jig will withstand multiple uses, extending its lifespan and enhancing your modification experience.
Unit Bearing Conversion:
When drilling we recommend to use a low drilling speed and cutting lubricant. This will help maintain the drill bit’s sharpness, prevent overheating, and ensure a better finish quality. For the best results, we recommend using a drill press for clean, straight holes.
Start by pre-drilling all holes with a 1/4″ drill bit with the drill guide securely bolted onto the stock studs. Then remove the drill jig and finish drilling out the hub with a 19/32″ drill bit to finalize the conversion of the unit bearing. The original wheel studs can be pressed out and installed into the new stud locations after the conversion is completed.
Rotor Modification:
To complete the conversion, it is necessary to modify the rotors. This process does not require the use of the 8×6.5 drill fixture. Simply use a 13/16″ drill bit to enlarge the existing holes in the rotor. The hub-centric design of the rotor will ensure proper centering during installation on the unit bearing.
Add the Superduty Dana 60 8×6.5 Drill Guide to your toolkit for a seamless lug pattern conversion. Looking for other upgrades? Check out our other axle parts to see how we can help get you back in the seat!
