Description
The ORA poly bushing kit is a weld-on builder bushing with a machined stainless inner sleeve. That’s a step up from the zinc-plated DOM inserts you’ll find in most competitors’ kits. Each kit includes one weldable outer DOM sleeve, one CNC-machined 303 stainless bolt sleeve, and two polyurethane bushing halves. That makes one complete assembly. Available in 2.625″ and 3″ mounting widths, both with a 9/16″ bolt hole.
What’s in the Poly Bushing Builder Kit:
- Outer weldable sleeve: 2″ OD, .250″ wall DOM steel tubing. CNC machined on both ends for a clean, consistent edge. The tapered lead-in makes pressing the bushing halves in easy — no sharp saw-cut edge to fight with.
- Inner bolt sleeve: CNC machined from 303 stainless steel, 1″ OD thick-wall construction. It resists corrosion without any coating, and the heavy wall keeps it from egging out under load, whereas thin-wall steel sleeves fail here over time.
- Tapered lead-in on the inner sleeve: The machined chamfer at the ends makes bolt alignment straightforward during installation.
- Polyurethane bushing halves: Two black poly halves per kit, sized for a 2″ OD / 1.5″ ID outer sleeve.
Where It Gets Used
Builder bushing kits work for custom motor mounts, transmission mounts, transfer case mounts, suspension link ends, and traction bars. So anywhere you need a weld-on pivot point with controlled flex, these fit the job. When you’re building a 4-link from scratch or fabbing an LS swap motor mount, they drop in the same way.
Width Options;
- 2.625″ mounting width — fits standard link brackets and most common bushing bracket applications
- 3″ mounting width — for wider bracket setups where additional spacing is needed
A Note on Quality
Most builder bushing kits use a zinc-plated tube inner sleeve. That coating does the job until it doesn’t. Once it chips or wears through, you’re dealing with rust and corrosion inside your mount. ORA’s inner sleeve is machined from solid 303 stainless. That means no coating to wear off and no rust concern. It also means a consistently smooth finish that makes bolt installation and removal cleaner over the life of the part. The heavy 1″ OD wall adds durability where thin-wall sleeves typically egg out from repeated load cycles.
It’s a more expensive kit to build than the standard zinc-plated option. That cost is on purpose. Made in the USA.
Remove poly bushing halves before welding the outer sleeve — welding heat will damage the poly bushings.
